Students have had record success on A-level results day after more than half of students got A*to B.

The overwhelming majority of students from Oasis Academy Hadley in South Street, Ponders End, will be going to university with 98 per cent of students being accepted.

A total of 65 per cent of students will be going to top third and Russel Group universities.

Student Liban Duldar got one A* and two As, he will go on to study mechanical engineering at UCL.

Student Zilamo Farik got four As and will be joining Liban at UCL to study biomedical science.

Beginning a new chapter at Nottingham University, Jake Jenkins will be studying psychology after getting three As.

Serkan Koskiran received two IT Distinctions and a Business Studies Distinction and will study International Business Management at Surrey University.

Brusk Duven got two distinctions in Business Studies and an A for Film Studies, he studied Queen Mary University Business Management

Melissa Cengiz secured an A*  in politics, A in Turkish, B in history, B in sociology, she will study politics and international relations.

Milad Koshikami received a distinction in applied science and in business studies.

Soria Hussani secured an A sociology and politics, and a C history, Soria will study politics and international relations at Queen Mary University.

Berfim Sahin got two As in film studies and politics, in Turkish she got a B and a C in English Literature C and will study at Warwick University.
