Members of Pinner Sketch Club are preparing for their most important event of the year, the 76th annual summer exhibition.

More than 70 artists are taking part to produce an exhibition of two hundred paintings and drawings, alongside ceramics and sculpture - all are for sale.

The club continues to welcomes new members. Those recently joined include Yoshie Murakami and Josip Soric.

Apart from enjoying watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, and etching, Yoshie is a qualified picture restorer. Illustrated here is her water colour impression, One stormy evening in Budleigh.

Josip is inspired to make magnificently detailed replicas of famous buildings such as the Taj Mahal, using hundreds of pinewood components, but without glue or screws.

Manjula Muir is an established member who practices a number of techniques in the field of ceramics. She spent her formative years in Sri Lanka and says: “I have developed a particular style blending eastern mysticism and western design.”

This Stoneware piece is entitled Blue Dragon. Other work represented in the same creative area is the pottery of Frances Minguard. Sculptor Eva Cowan combines steel and glass in some of her work and will be showcasing examples.

Landscape, still life, portrait and life drawing all feature on the spectrum of the club’s activities. Much of the landscape painting is carried out on location both locally and further afield, such as Jeremy Deacon’s West Looe Cliffs and Pam Adsley’s Secret Sands (pictured).

The exhibition will be judged and awards presented this year by the renowned artist Shanti Panchal, (Hon. RBA) and visitors will also be able to vote for their favourite piece in the People’s Choice award.

The exhibition runs from the August 11 to 25 at the Pinner Parish Church Hall, Church Lane. Details: pinnersketchclub.co.uk
