HAYES scooped 12 Green Flags for its parks, meadowland, garden centres and open spaces in Love Parks Week, which finishes on Sunday..

The flags are awarded by Keep Britain Tidy, which has published research showing that 75% of children want to spend more time outdoors.

The awards are being recognised at the new Gatefold Building, which is being developed by be:here on the former EMI Records site, where every home comes with outdoor space.

Many have balconies, while others their own private gardens and the 7,000 sq ft roof terrace has seating areas, planting and views over the town.

“We’ve built fresh air and a fresh approach into every element of life at the Gatefold Building, said Hayley Wills, area manager of be:here Hayes.

“It is a wonderful town to call home. Hayes really does have the whole package.”
