Another Crystal Palace road has been dug up due to a burst water main that flooded the area.

Residents noticed the leak yesterday afternoon on Crystal Palace Parade and quickly took to social media to alert Thames Water to the incident.

The water company arrived quickly and managed to control the leak before any more flooding took place.

CPNeighbours, a local Twitter page said: "Full credit to Thames Water on this major burst. On site in 15 minutes, leaked stopped within hours... and pro active work overnight to install a new valve to help with future repairs in the area."

This news comes just days after Crystal Palace Park and Thicket road re-opened after weeks of work from Thames Water.

Residents in this area were left for days without water and were worried that this new leak would leave them in the same situation.

A Thameswater spokeswoman said: "We’re aware of the leak on Crystal Palace Parade. An engineer has recently arrived at the site to investigate and stop the flow of water as quickly as possible”.
