A group of Ramblers have walked all 45 of Lewisham’s parks in one day.
News Shopper spoke to Crofton Park resident Jack Cornish who works for the British walking charity, the Ramblers.
Mr Cornish said: “Last Sunday we found ourselves walking between all 45 parks in Lewisham, 25.6 miles in ten hours and 30 degree heat."
Jack was joined by Oliver Hicks-Pattison, Robyn Stephens and Katie McDonald who all work together.
They decided that they would walk all the parks in Hackney in February and then Jack had the idea to do the next walk in Lewisham.
The group started at Telegraph Hill and finished at Horniman Gardens in Forest Hill, in between they saw an amazing variety of parks.
One of the things Jack said he noticed the most was the how readily available green space is just 25 minutes out of central London.
Jack added: “Me and Ollie are now planning to do the other London Boroughs - walking each boroughs parks in one day, starting at Inner London.
“After 20 miles in Hackney and 25 miles in Lewisham we think we would like a slightly shorter walk so are going to do the City of London next and then either Lambeth or Camden.”
