A drug dealer jailed for three years in 2017 has had £55,000 worth of property confiscated.

Manish Jadeja, 36, of Oldberry Road in Edgware was jailed for three years after pleading guilty at Harrow Crown Court on March 23, 2017.

He was arrested on August 20, 2016, when the West Hendon Safer Neighbourhood Team used a warrant having received information from the community a drug dealer was operating from a shop in Hendon Way, Hendon.

Jadeja was found in possession of quantities of cocaine and cannabis.

After his conviction, the Financial Investigation Team based in Wembley used powers under the Proceeds of Crime Act and on June 15, 2018, the courts confiscated proceeds worth £55,000 Jedeja had acquired through drug dealing.

PC Mark Fennessy of the West Hendon Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “This confiscation shows that even when those involved in drug dealing are behind bars, the police will pursue them and confiscate the assets they have obtained through their criminality.

“West Hendon Safer Neighbourhoods Team would like to thank the local community for the information received about drug dealing. We would like to reassure our community that we will act on information received to rid our streets of drugs.”
