A woman is still recovering in hospital after breaking her legs, pelvis and ribs in a hit-and-run.

The 55-year-old also needed six surgeries and a skin graft after the crash in Cecil Road, Harrow, at 1.50pm on April 23.

Police have now re-issued an appeal to find the person responsible.

They say she was hit by a black Mercedes, which was left with a broken windscreen, and sped off towards Ellen Webb Drive.

Detective Constable Adam Sullivan said: "Someone out there knows exactly what they have done and are living with the thought that they have seriously injured an innocent pedestrian.

"If a friend or family member has disclosed to you what happened, or you notice that their black Mercedes has been damaged and the explanation seems a bit unusual, please contact police."
