A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man in his 40s was stabbed in Carshalton on bank holiday Monday.

The 27-year-old suspect was detained by police on May 30 and taken to a south London police station where he currently remains in custody.

Officers were called to Wrythe Lane shortly after 4.30am, on May 28, and found a man suffering from stab injuries.

A Met Police spokesman said it is believed the incident took place at a property in the area.
