A man is pleading for justice after his 96-year-old grandad was “battered” when his home was burgled.
Ron Cork, 96, had his home in Ronfearn Avenue, St Mary Cray targeted last week in what police describe as an “aggravated burglary”.
A police spokesman added: “The victim was found to be suffering from a number of serious medical issues.
“His condition is currently not life-threatening. Enquires continue into the exact nature of how he came to be in this condition.”
Detectives are currently investigating the incident, which is thought to have happened between Thursday night and Friday morning.
In a Facebook post, the victim's grandson Justin Cork said £600 pounds was taken and “two boys” left Ron “battered and having a stroke”.
The burglary happened after "two boys aged around 15/16 have knocked on his door, taken his keys and have been round to rob him".
Speaking to News Shopper, Justin added: “He is still in a serious but stable condition. They think he will be in hospital for nine to 10 weeks.
“Someone somewhere knows who this is and they need to be found before more vulnerable people fall victim.”
Justin asked for information so that "justice will be served".
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
