Thousands of pounds have been raised for disabled children in Bromley.

On Saturday (April 28) - £11,000 was collected for the Freddie Farmer Foundation charity at a fundraising dinner at Oakley House.

The charity - set up in 2011 - is named after Freddie Farmer, a 13-year-old boy from Hayes with cerebral palsy.

A supporter of the charity for disabled children also donated £10,000 as a gift.

Special guests included the Chelsea Pensioners who turned out in their finest red and white.

Charity officer Karen Smith said: “We couldn’t have wished for a better night.

“We had some brilliant raffle and auction prizes and some amazing guests, but the unveiling of our new video was the ultimate highlight.

“The video, which was first shown on a big screen at Saturday’s event, features an upbeat video montage of disabled children using various pieces of specialist equipment set to a Coldplay soundtrack.

“We really wanted to use Coldplay’s song Fix You as the backdrop to our video as it absolutely sums up what we do here.

“We got to work getting all the relevant permissions and licences from Universal Music and Warner Music and we’re delighted to officially launch it on the Freddie Farmer Foundation website freddiefarmerfoundation.org.uk.

“The video is for all those people who want to know more about what we do here, and how we can help so many disabled children.”
