A marathon runner inspired by his grandmother with dementia has completed his third marathon.

Josh Domb, ran the London marathon for charity, Jewish Care, in just three hours and 11 minutes in one of the hottest marathons recorded.

The 28-year-old said: “Those were undoubtedly the hardest conditions I have ever run in.

“The first 18 miles were okay but after that the heat truly took its toll, unfortunately it was not really the day to run for personal best times.”

Mr Domb said: “The atmosphere was incredible.

“The marathon is one of London’s finest days every year and I’m really pleased to have been able to raise money once more for the super people at Jewish Care.

“From the moment we first reached out to Jewish Care they have been absolutely brilliant.

“I have always taken huge comfort from the standard of care that the team at Jewish Care provide to my Grandma on so many levels.

“It makes the world of difference.”

A lawyer in the White Collar Crime team at Paul Hastings, he grew up in High Barnet and now lives in Clerkenwell.

Running for Jewish Care, Mr Domb’s grandmother, Diane, who is living with dementia, moved to its Otto Schiff home in Golders Green two years ago.

She inspired him to run three marathons in the past two years.

Mr Domb’s parents, Steve and Brigitte Domb and his girlfriend, Lauren and her mother, were there to cheer him on.

Brigitte Domb said: “I was worried about him running in this heat but I’m so proud of him and what he’s achieved.

“He’s raised an incredible amount for his Grandma, Diane, and the residents at Otto Schiff home.”
