Two people were were taken to hospital after a woman was reportedly hit by a motorcyclist in Sidcup.

The incident happened just before midday yesterday (April 18) in Main Road, and an air ambulance was sent to the scene.

A witness who works nearby and who did not want to be named told News Shopper he stayed with the woman who was knocked down until paramedics arrived.

He said: "I was down the road from it. Paramedics were treating a woman there for two hours.

"She was hit by a motorbike when crossing the road. It looked quite bad. Hopefully she is ok."

He added that he believed the woman had been airlifted to hospital after she was treated at the scene.

A spokesman from London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11:54am yesterday to Main Road, Sidcup, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian.

"We sent an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and two ambulance crews. London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched by helicopter.

"We treated two people at the scene. We took one to hospital and one to a major trauma centre as a priority."
