A beloved bear from Twickenham has now been missing since Friday, April 13.
The bear, called simply Bear, has been the “best-friend and companion” of Jack Barnfield, aged six, who is distraught.
The Twitterati spread the word and although Bear hasn’t yet been found, an artist drew a portrait of Bear and another person found a nearly-identical bear, which Jack calls Cuddly Bear.
Dad Matt Barnfield tweeted: “He still clearly misses his friend, but we can see he is comforted by this new companion.
“I would like to thank everyone who has tried to find Bear from the bottom of my heart for your time, caring and genuine kindness.
“My wife and I have been blown away by the incredible response. My faith in humanity has never been stronger. We feel truly blessed and humbled.”
Professional artist Dawn Cruttenden, artist in residence at The Savoy, was also helping with the hunt and sketched a picture of Bear for Jack.
Matt described it as “one of the most breathtakingly beautiful things I’ve ever seen”.
The family hasn’t given up hope of finding Bear, so please keep your eyes peeled in Twickenham and Teddington areas.
“Jack is autistic and this scruffy bear has been his best friend and companion. He is completely devastated and would be so grateful to find him again,” Matt tweeted.
