Following reports of drug deals and anti-social behaviour outside shops, temporary CCTV cameras have been installed in Croydon town centre.
Three cameras in total will be placed around the area, including one outside McDonald's in North End.
This decision comes two months after cameras were installed in a Shrublands "crime hotspot" in an effort by Croydon Council to reduce crime and crack down on anti-social behaviour.
Council’s head of community safety, Anthony Lewis, said "public safety is our priority."
"The cameras will be moved around the borough as needed to reassure residents and to help deter crime.”
The new cameras are some of ten that have been installed as part of a three month trial period, including a deployable camera that has been installed in Green Lane, Upper Norwood, after residents witnessed drug dealing, assault and anti-social behaviour in their area.
