A Cheam school PE teacher has officially played her first two matches for the England women’s cricket team in India.

Nonsuch School for Girls’s Bryony Smith, 20, is one of three uncapped players in the squad as they defeated Australia by eight wickets in their Twenty20 Tri-Series tour match today (March 23).

The Surrey County Cricket Club batswoman, who made a half-century in a warm-up match against India, first played for the national side against India A earlier this week.

England will take on India again this Sunday at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai (March 25).
