Bach Choir Concert

The St John Passion was the first of the two great Passion settings by J.S. Bach, written and performed soon after he was appointed Kapellmeister to the churches in Leipzig. It was performed on Good Friday 1724, originally in two parts, with a sermon in between. For better or for worse, St Albans Bach Choir’s current performance will concentrate solely on the music!

On a steamy night in Mississippi, a southern family gather at their cotton plantation to celebrate Big Daddy’s birthday. The scorching heat is almost as oppressive as the lies they tell. Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage. With the future of the family at stake, which version of the truth is real – and which will win out?

Blue Electric Wind

Blue Electric Wind is a newly commissioned play, part of National Theatre’s Connections programme. When people at school start forgetting things, Scott wonders if he's the only one who's noticed. He and some of the school's misfits seem to be the only ones who can see what's happening. Is it the weather? Is it a virus? They must join forces to try and work out what is causing everyone in town to lose all sense of who they are.

King Charles III

King Charles III is Mike Bartlett's "future history play", which opens with Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. Parliament wish to pass a new law limiting the freedom of the press. Charles must sign off a law he disagrees with and refuses. We see the relationship between Parliament and the throne crumble, causing Kate and Wills to step in. Will the monarchy be abolished? Will Charles succeed in dissolving Parliament? Do Wills and Kate become King and Queen? Feast One’s Eyes are a new company who aim to educate the younger generation on the importance of politics in an entertaining way.

Dinosaur Art

This Dinosaur Art Course is taught by the talented Paula Watkins and is open to men and children – that's dads/step-dads/grandads and uncles etc. You'll be using mixed media techniques to decorate an MDF cut-out of a dinosaur head and making a dinosaur diorama from a shoe box.

Strictly Come Hospice

20 brave couples will be taking to the stage and competing to become Strictly Come Hospice Champions 2018 all in aid of Peace Hospice Care. Over the past few weeks they have been learning the Cha Cha Cha or the Strictly Tango ready to perform in front of an audience of 500 people and a panel of expert judges. The bar will be open along with a raffle so come along and join in the fun.
