AFC Wimbledon first-team squad members helped to collect generous contributions from supporters to the Wimbledon Foodbank.

Will Nightingale and Toby Sibbick helped with collections before the Northampton home game on (February 10) which resulted in a great response from Dons Supporters to the High Path facility.

Wimbledon Foodbank Co-Ordinator Corinne Marshall said: “We were very pleased to receive 423kg of food supplies from AFC Wimbledon FC supporters.

“The deliveries were very welcome as we had asked the Foundation to coordinate deliveries around the January/February period when our supplies are lower than usual.

“This was enough food to feed 187 people over three days in crisis.

“We have a great relationship with the football club and Foundation and look forward to continuing to work with them.”

AFC Wimbledon Foundation Director Phillip Rudling said: “We were really pleased with the response before the Blackpool and Northampton games.

“Despite the poor weather, many fans contributed. We even had to draft in a few extra volunteers to transport the food to our Foundation office.

“The Foodbank were thrilled with the amount of contributions and again this reflects the #oneclubonecommunity message that our unique fan base and club stands for.

“It really was a whole club effort and it was great to see first teamers Toby Sibbick and Will Nightingale helping out at the pre-match collections.”
