ROCK PROJECT is calling all budding young musicians to join their Pinner band on Wednesday evenings.

The UK’s leading school for children’s contemporary music tuition is searching for guitarists who can strum up the right notes at Nower Hill High School.

Organiser Pritpal Chitroda, who also runs schools in Ealing and Uxbridge, teaches 7-18-year-olds how to sing, play the drums, bass and guitar in weekly two-hour sessions.

Pritpal Chitroda said: “There’s a genuine need for more guitarists to come forward.

“It’s a lot of fun and helps the students grow.”

Despite only running for a couple of years, two students have already featured on a BBC radio slot with their group ‘Lost Near Blue Ape’.

Their confidence and dreams are encouraged by Pritpal, who said: “The Rock Project is all about teaching young people how to love playing music.”

The lessons consist of one hour of tutoring in their desired instrument and the other half coming together and playing as a band.

Pritpal said: “The transformation we see among students is amazing.”

The school is divided into juniors, for 7-11-year-old students running from 4:15pm-6:15pm and seniors, 12-18-year-olds, running from 6:30-8:30pm

Pritpal continued: “Our aim is not only to build musical skills, but also confidence and the ability to perform on stage. It’s all done gradually.”
