Young people have the chance to help shape Haringey’s future health strategy

On Tuesday 13 February between 2:30pm and 6:30pm a #Fixup_LookSharp event at Alexandra Palace gives 13-to-20-year-olds an opportunity to share their ideas.

Body image issues, physical health, good eating and leading an active lifestyle will all be under discussion.

Haringey Council worked with community groups and the Youth Council to organise the event.

There will be prizes, dancers and a special guest appearance by YouTuber Gogo from BkChat LDN.

Cllr Jason Arthur, Haringey Council cabinet member for health, said: “Encouraging young people to engage with important topics such as healthy living early in their lives is a vital step in our fight against chronic health problems.

“This is a great opportunity for the borough’s youngsters to have a say on issues which could impact their generation and others in the future.”

Over half of adults and one in 10 Haringey 11-year-olds are overweight.
