The likeable Scot blossomed from a gawky Aberdeen youngster to become one of the game's most respected goal poachers, breaking the British transfer record to move from an ill-fated stint in Italy to Old Trafford.

Short on goal action, with some clunky editing, there are however some insightful interviews with Sir Alex Ferguson, George Best, Bobby Charlton and his former colleagues, who reveal a fiercely patriotic man with tremendous all-round skills who wasn't averse to giving back what he got on the pitch.
