Police get injured while on the job, but usually the people they should feel safe around are their fellow officers.
But for one Bromley officer, it was a colleague she should have been watching out for.
While police were responding to a call in Station Approach in Hayes yesterday (January 19), officers got involved in a “fracas” while arresting a man for allegedly damaging a door.
During the kerfuffle, one female officer received a black eye, but it wasn’t by the person they were arresting, but by her fellow officer instead.
Bromley Police tweeted: “He claims it was his body worn video camera that caught her in the face but we aren’t convinced he hadn’t planned it. We’ll hold a kangaroo court in parade tomorrow.”
Chelsfield Police said on Twitter that it was “one of the strangest things I’ve heard over the radio” and said: “Hope those injured feel better soon. I'm sure cream cakes would aid their recovery.”
