Woolwich Polytechnic School has had to shut to all staff and pupils after a large chunk of the roof was blown off.
As strong winds of up to 75mph hit the capital over night, pupils woke up this morning (January 18) to find their school was closed for the day.
A spokesperson for Woolwich Poly told News Shopper experts were at the school assessing the extent of the damage.
It is still up in the air whether the school will be able to open tomorrow, and even if it can open it will still be partially closed.
A section of the school had the roof blown off and scattered into the school grounds below.
