The Christmas lights on a house in Hayes Lane have become such an institution that generations have enjoyed them.

Mark Stebles was delighted by the lights as a boy 20 years ago and now he said he takes his son to see them.

His four-year-old boy took a video of the impressive display.

Mr Stebles said: “I grew up in Bromley and we were just on the way home and my son wanted to stop and look at the lights.

“Since I was small they have been there. At least 20 years or so. The man who does them has a charity bucket up.

“My son thought it was amazing, he loved all the lights. There are so many things to look at its so impressive.

“I felt the same thing when I was a boy. I was always impressed by the display.”

Mr Stebles said his little boy enjoyed the nostalgic trip. He does not know who puts the lights up but he praised them for their efforts.

He said: “Its nice to see that people go to that effort to entertain others. It can’t be cheap to buy all those things and it must take a while to put it up.

“It’s really nice. It’s good to show your kids what you used to do and what you used to like. He’s just four. He was really excited.”
