Wimbledon’s winter wonderland was a great success as we watched children from Merton schools sing, dance and perform on stage as Denise Waterman hosted the Centre Court stage.

Ignoring the cold rain, the whole community got together to enjoy the festivities of Santa Claus and an ice rink ending with spectacular fireworks set off from the roof of Centre Court Shops.

The next day I was honoured to attend the Lawn Tennis Writers’ Association Annual Awards Lunch at the Rohampton club. I was delighted to hear the LTWA chairman Barry Chapman present the main award to the woman’s semi-finalist at Wimbledon this year Johanna Konta and the Special Award to performance coach Alan Jones – recognising 50 years of professional coaching, including his best-known protégée Jo Durie.

Many of us are still recovering from the ultimate Christmas party hosted by myself and Darling Magazine as we enjoyed an evening with 140 Wimbledon businesses and special guests including Reality TV stars, Hip Hop artists and the Eyes Of Lady Wimbledon blogger tribe.

It has been a great fortnight of Christmas parties in Merton and we thoroughly enjoyed our own Eyes of Lady Wimbledon bloggers Christmas lunch at Hotel Du Vin at Cannizaro.

Why don’t you send your Christmas party photos to Wimbledon Guardian and you may see yourself online at WimbledonGuardian.co.uk

For now, I wish you all the fun Merton has to offer until it's time to put our feet up and rest.
