Agile hotshots from two of Richmond’s schools took home two titles in the London English Schools Table Tennis competition and have made it into the national final.

Turing House won the U16 trophy and Richmond Park Academy the U13.

The girls defeated teams from Bromley, Croydon, Kingston, Merton, and Sutton schools, playing in a round robin format.

Harriet Foster, from Turing House, said: “We enjoy playing together and love to win so we can’t wait for the final.”

The Turing House girls have been playing table tennis for two years and got into the sport after playing on school tables at break times and after school.

Lilah Jones, from Richmond Park Academy, said: “I had some tough games and one that went to five sets, but I absolutely loved it. We want to see how we can do in the final.”

The U16 Turing House team consisted of Harriet Foster, Eve Winders, Nyah Patel and Mimi Williams (all 13).

The U13 Richmond Park Academy team consisted of Michaela Polendakova (13) Elizabeth Pass and Adelka Delevante (both 12) and Lilah Jones (11).
