A woman who was run over four times in a fatal ‘hit-and-run’ in Tulse Hill was from Wandsworth, police have confirmed.

The 29-year-old victim was struck by two lorries and two cars after crossing the street in Norwood Road on December 11.

Police said the first driver failed to stop at the scene, with a second lorry and two cars hitting her and not stopping either.

Navin Bagan, 37, who works at the nearby Tulse Hill café, said: “They just left her to die - it is not right."

"This road is sometimes very busy in the mornings, but that's not an excuse for a car to hit a lady and run off. She's only in her 20s or 30s."

"Maybe they didn't have a drivers' licence or insurance or something."

"I hope they find them. I'm sure they will find them - it's a busy road, there are lots of security cameras."

Paramedics were called to the scene at 6.48am but the victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at 7.20am.

Police are continuing to appeal for information.

Acting Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us.

"I would also urge the drivers of all four vehicles to come forward and speak with my team."

Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merton on 020 8543 5157.
