A pair of Mitcham teenagers have admitted going on a shoplifting spree in Sutton High Street.

The girls, aged 14 and 15, stole more than £368 worth of goods from five stores on the same street in August.

More than £142 worth of clothing and home items were taken from New Look and Matalan, £145.59 worth of cosmetics from Wilko and Superdrug, as well as two bottles of Britney Spears perfume from Debenhams totalling £80.

The two, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to stealing cosmetics to stealing clothing and home items from Matalan, clothing and jewellery from New Look, cosmetics from Wilko, cosmetics from Superdrug, and attempt to steal two bottles of Britney Spears perfume at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (November 8).

The 14-year-old also admitted to stealing various items, to the total of £175, from Sainsbury's in September.

One of them will be supervised by a youth offender panel for the next six months, while the other was given a youth rehabilitation order for six months.

They were ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £55.
