Anti-social behaviours from groups of motorcyclists is being clamped down on in an operation across London.
During the Halloween period over the past two years, officers have responded to "ride out" events were large groups of motorcyclists have gathered, causing disruption by driving through red lights, across pavements, on the wrong side of the road and many use stolen motorbikes.
A planned operations will hope to stamp out this behviour, and the police believe some individual involved may be linked to a group named UK Bike Life.
Superintendent Tania Coulson said: “In the past, these groups have caused criminal damage to petrol stations and put themselves and members of the public at great risk by driving recklessly in large groups through the streets of London.
“We know that some people may see the event advertised and think they are joining like-minded enthusiasts on a lawful ride.
"This is not the case. They drive ruthlessly and carry out stunts on the road."
She added that officer will deploy "police tactics" to prevent riders from driving dangerously and will deal robustly with offenders.
