A woman has reached out to the public after her beloved pet parrot went missing from her home.

Pete, a Congo African Grey, disappeared from Helen Hugo’s garden in Walton Avenue, South Harrow, on August 14.

He has distinctively deformed feet, doesn’t have a ring and, as far as Helen knows, isn’t microchipped.

His owner explained how the bird is a big part of her life and, after two months without any luck, she is asking anyone with information to come forward.

“He means a lot to me and we had a very close relationship, so for him to go missing is absolutely gutting,” she said.

Helen searched desperately for Pete the night he disappeared, has contacted vets and the RSPCA and has put up a number of ‘missing’ posters.

She now fears that somebody might have kidnapped him and plans to go to the police to register him as missing.

If anyone has any information about Pete or his whereabouts, please call Helen on 07759 650 659.
