A new nursery is opening its doors in Sidcup this month.

The Rise and Shine Day Nursery and Pre-School will open within the grounds of Sidcup Rugby Sports Club, Sydney Road, on October 23.

The independent nursery will have 12 staff and enough space for 42 children between the ages of nought and five. It was registered with Ofsted last Monday.

Nursery manager Liz Elliott said: “It will be a safe and secure environment.

“It will all be about learning through play as we believe children learn when they are having fun.

“Our nurses’ two years of training will help make the environment warm and safe.

“The whole thing has been a labour of love.

“I’m most proud of the space that we have. Its full of nature, there is green grass and trees. Its lovely to breathe in the fresh air.”

Ms Elliott has over 20 years of experience running nurseries.

The nursery, whose motto is ‘why fit in when you were born to stand out?’, was officially launched on September 23.

The mayor of Bexley Irene Reader attended the event.

Rise and Shine is now open for viewings and registrations. Anybody who is interested should call Ms Elliott on 0208 300 9000.
