CCTV footage caught two men illegally dumping black bags full of rubbish near a subway.

Enfield Council say the offence happened on Sunday, September 10, in Munster Gardens, Palmers Green.

The authority has now issued an appeal and want to speak to the men pictured.

Councillor Daniel Anderson, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “Enfield Council spends £4.5 million each year clearing our streets, and £800,000 alone on dealing with fly-tipping.

“There are plenty of ways of disposing of waste legally and responsibly in the borough, so there is really no excuse to dump rubbish in this way.

“I am therefore looking forward to seeing these men being caught and handed fixed penalty notices.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information on these culprits to report them as soon as possible through our website.

“Help the Council in its efforts to make Enfield cleaner and greener.”

Those guilty of disposing waste illegally are given a £400 fixed penalty notice, but could face further penalties if they refuse to pay up.

Enfield Council doubled the cost of fixed penalty notices at the start of this year.

To dispose of bulky waste people are encouraged to organise a collection through the council website.

If the items are to be collected by a third-party ask to see their Waste Carriers Licence before going any further.

A fixed penalty notice can be issued to the person whose waste it is if this is not done.
