Commuters face Monday morning misery today because overrunning engineering works are causing delays on Southeastern lines running through Orpington.

Weekend engineering work between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks is over-running and is not expected to finish before 12pm despite originally expected to finish at 7.30am.

There will be changes to Southeastern services especially before 10am but possibly later.

Trains between Hastings and London Charing Cross / London Cannon Street will be diverted from Tonbridge via Redhill and East Croydon, not stopping at Hildenborough, Sevenoaks or Orpington. Some trains will end and start their journeys at London Bridge.

Trains between Dover / Ramsgate / Canterbury West and London Charing Cross / London Cannon Street via Ashford International and Tonbridge will be diverted via Maidstone East and will not stop at Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks or Orpington.

A revised service will run between Sevenoaks and London calling at stations via Orpington.

Passengers are being urged to check their journey's before they leave. You can do that and see a full list of disrupted services here.

A spokesman for Southeastern said: "We are working with Network Rail to get a more precise estimate as quickly as possible and will update you here just as soon as we have it."

Update: Lines are open at Sevenoaks. The first train from Tonbridge towards Sevenoks will be the 12.09, which is expected at 12.35pm.
