A pair of sixth form students from south west London won the chance to show off their designs on the catwalk at London Fashion Week.

Victoria Olejniczak and Keir Booton, who are both from Merton and study at Graveney School, were among 20 winners to display their work before an audience in Covent Garden on Monday (September 18).

The 17-year-olds’ designs were described by judges as “inspiring, passionate, brave and reaffirming”.

Victoria, whose cape and skirt were inspired by Polish folk art, said: “It’s crazy being at London Fashion Week when you’re just 17.

“It’s so exciting getting to speak to everyone and that shock when you see your model come down the catwalk wearing your garment, that’s just insane.

“I felt so proud when I saw my garment coming down the catwalk.”

The competition was part of the Fashion Future’s programme, run by charity Fashion Awareness Direct.
