Little Albie Langford was distraught when his dad accidentally lost his tablet last weekend.

But then he was overjoyed when a stranger's Facebook post helped return the precious piece of tech.

Two-year-old Albie was out driving with his dad Barry Langford, 36, of Simnel Road, Lee, last Sunday (Aug 24).

Mr Langford put the tablet on the roof of his car while he was looking after Albie but then forgot he had left it up there.

Mr Langford drove off and the tablet fell from the car and into the road somewhere between Lee and Chislehurst.

Albie is an avid fan of the comic franchise Marvel. The toddler uses the tablet to watch his favourite Avengers cartoon.

Albie’s mum Alison Pearce, 46, said: “He loves the tablet and he takes it everywhere he goes.

“He uses it to go on the web so he can watch Marvel Heroes, which he is fascinated in. He has loads of hero costumes, every part of his room is Marvel, he lives dreams and sleeps Marvel.

“He was distraught, he couldn’t find it and he thought he wouldn’t be able to watch Marvel Heroes anymore so he was really upset.”

But Albie soon found out that not all heroes live in comic books.

A passing driver found the tablet on the road. Amazingly it had not been damaged when it fell from Mr Langford’s car.

A woman called Lily West then posted a message on Facebook page Orpington Gossip, trying to find the owner of the tablet.

Albie’s 23-year-old sister noticed the post and got in touch with Ms West.

Albie’s mum said he was delighted when he heard the news that his tablet had been found.

Ms Pearce went to collect the tablet after her Sunday work shift. It was late and so Albie could not go with her to pick it up.

Little Albie waited for his mother on the sofa and when Ms Pearce returned he was asleep in the sitting room.

Ms Pearce said: “In the morning the first thing he asked for was his tablet. He was so happy.”

Albie’s mum took flowers over to Ms West to say thank you for her kindness.

Ms Pearce said: “I was so grateful for the people to hand something like that back.”

On Tuesday, little Albie took a tumble in a ball pit and broke his ankle. Luckily, he now has his tablet to watch Avengers while he recovers.
