Sutton Council has released images of a container that was left “dumped” in the borough which they labelled as ‘blatant’ fly-tipping.
In a statement they also said that it costs taxpayers £2,000 to clear up.
They added: “Officers were unable to trace the owner and the serial numbers had been taken off with a grinder. A contractor was employed to remove it, but it proved too heavy to lift meaning it was excess of 24 tonnes.
“A grab lorry was needed to remove some of the material until it became light enough. One of the worst and most blatant examples of fly-tipping our officers have encountered.”
