A fifth arrest has been made in connection to the murder of Croydon teenager Jermaine Goupall.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Friday, August 18 on suspicion of Jermaine's murder.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-September.

Four other people have been charged with murder so far.

A 16-year-old boy, 18-year-old Saskia Haye-Elliot of Northdowns Crescent, Croydon and a 17-year-old boy will face trial at the Old Bailey on January 8, 2018. 18-year-old Daniel Luke from Donald Road, Croydon has also been charged with murder.

Police were called to Georgia Road, near the junction with Green Lane in Thornton Heath at around 11pm on Tuesday, August 8.

Members of the public rushed to help Jermaine after he was injured before police officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived. Jermaine was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before midnight.

The homicide and major crime command are investigating.
