A new festival is coming to Greenwich this winter and locals can buy tickets for it before the rest of the public.

The inaugural Greenwich Wintertime Festival will launch this December, set in the stunning grounds of Sir Christopher Wren’s riverside masterpiece, Old Royal Naval College.

Against the backdrop of the iconic Cutty Sark, the new winter festival will include a seasonal market and ice rink, alongside festive food and drink.

The full festival programme, including various pieces of entertainment, will be announced in mid-September.

For Greenwich residents, there is an exclusive 48 hour opportunity to book tickets from 10am on Monday, 21 August, before going on general sale.

Ed Barnard, finance and commercial director at the Old Royal Naval College, said: “We are deeply excited to have Greenwich Wintertime Festival this Christmas and it’s a welcome addition to the wonderful variety of Christmas-themed events that London has to offer.

“Taking place within the historic grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, it promises to bring something a little different to the festive arena and is another great reason to visit this exciting part of the capital.”

Greenwich Wintertime Festival runs from 1 – 31 December and tickets start at £15 for adults and £10 for children. There is a 48 hour priority booking period for local Greenwich Borough residents SE10/SE3 on 21 August, with tickets on general sale from 23 August 2017.
