Police are hunting two men and a Volkswagen Golf after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in Woolwich.

Officers were called at 9.15pm to reports of a stabbing behind Sovereign House, in Maud Cashmore Way on August 15.

The 15-year-old was seen by witnesses running and screaming down the street as he was chased.

He was found by police with stab wounds in his stomach and is now in a central London hospital win a critical condition.

Police believe two black men were involved in the assault. A vehicle, described as a Volkswagen Golf, was seen leaving the location shortly afterwards and police would like to trace this car and its occupants.

No arrests have been made so far.

Detective Constable Andrew Payne said: "A 15 year-old-boy has been terribly injured in this attack. I am appealing for anyone who was in the area or saw anything suspicious; either before or after the assault, to contact police urgently.

"We need the community to assist us; if you have any information that would help please do not hesitate to contact us. Your information could be vital and will be treated in the strictest confidence."
