Police in Bexley have been called to reports of an attempted snatch at a Post Office.

One witness said they saw multiple police cars and a police horse van in Sidcup High Street.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said someone had attempted to steal a money box full of cash in transit.

The spokesman said: “We were called at 12.01pm. Someone had tried to snatch a money box like a cash in transit box.

“A member of security staff received minor injuries. Nothing was stolen and there were no signs of weapons involved.

“The assailant made off and enquiries continue.”
