Commuters have been admiring a seven year-old boy’s design of a garden on a platform at a train station by taking pictures.
Green-fingered Lenz Haring, from Harrow, developed a passion for horticulture after decorating his grandmother Geraldine Auerbach’s garden with lilies, roses, chrysanthemums and pansies.
One day in June, he passed Northwick Park Metropolitan Line Station, in Northwick Avenue, Harrow, and noticed four raised beds that were covered in grass and weeds.

Lenz soon set to work to brighten them up and has since has planted an array of Lavender and Campanulas, as well as a Lemon Geranium, some Rosemary and pink Cape Daisies from his garden at home.
Ms Auerbach has been “surprised” by the positive reaction her grandson’s project has received by members of the public.
She said: “Passengers have been all smiles and very complimentary. One said how friendly it looked and another remarked how nice it was to sit next to the lavender.
“Another commuter brought a hose for the project and connected it so we could make sure the plants survived. Some passengers offered to help by bringing some plants.
“Lenz loves gardening and was in his element planning where they should go and getting involved in all the planting.”
