Police have warned that scam callers are targeting residents in Bromley.
A letter, written by PCSO Adam Lighterness, warns a lot of scam calls have been received in the Hayes and Coney Hall ward over the past week.
The caller claims to work at HMRC and has told residents they owe money and will need to pay up or risk being taken to court.
The scammers are calling off an 020 3 number.
PCSO Lighterness said that HMRC will not ask for money over the phone and urged residents not to hand over their card details.
Those who have queries about the scam calls should call 0208 649 3548 or register free of charge with the Telephone Preference Service on 0845 070 0707.
