An animal charity is offering temporary accommodation for dogs and cats needing a place to stay after a tragic fire in west London.

At least six people have died after a fire ripped thought a 24-storey block of flats in north Kensington.

A spokesperson for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home said: “We’re in contact with local authorities in Kensington and Chelsea, as well as the police, to offer our assistance to dogs and cats needing temporary accommodation in the wake of last night's tragic fire.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected.”
