Fairfield Halls may still be out of action but Croydon is still in for a Christmas treat this year, as for a second year running, Q Productions will bring a family favourite back to the Waddon Leisure Centre.

After more than 14,000 people turned out to see the company’s production of Aladdin in 2016, it’s been announced that a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk will try and go one better this time around.

Alongside a cast of West End performers and local young talent will be a “star name” that is yet to be announced.

It’s not just a chance to see the stars shine on the stage however.

An opportunity for the region’s young talent to strut their stuff will come later in the year as there will be open auditions held to join the juvenile ensemble.

Director of Q Productions Eddie Dredge was delighted to be back in Croydon for a second time around.

“We are so pleased that Q Productions will be bringing the magic of Jack and the Beanstalk to the Waddon Theatre at Waddon Leisure Centre this December,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing this time-honoured family tradition to the people of Croydon for the second year running. I’m really excited for this special production and look forward to working with the local community.”

Creative Director at Croydon Council Paula Murray, was pleased that the show could go on.

“It is great to welcome back Q Productions to Waddon Leisure Centre with the Giant of all Pantomimes, Jack and the Beanstalk, particularly while we have Fairfield Halls out of action for its refurbishment and I know that hundreds of our residents will enjoy the show,” she said.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Thursday, December 7, to Sunday, December 31 (times vary, check website). Tickets, priced from £12.50 to £18.50, are now on sale from the website:www.thecroydonpanto.com. For group bookings (10+), call the groups hotline: 01494 917519.
