A Britain’s Got Talent star is set to headline this year's Mitcham Carnival.

Singer Wayne Woodward will be top of the bill for the event on Saturday, June 10.

It will be held on Three Kings Piece, Commonside West, Mitcham, from 12pm to 5pm.

Wayne, who has been described as a cross between Danny Dyer and Frank Sinatra, has just released his first album. He was a runner-up in the tenth season of the show.

He confirmed his attendance with a tweet on May 30:

He will be joined by a host of other acts on the day including a demonstration by British Empire Wrestling and a dog show.

Merton Council are hosting the event, which attracted more than 5,000 people last year.
