Commuters will face rush-hour train delays through Charlton station this evening while a level crossing is repaired.
Southeastern services may be delayed by 15 minutes or diverted while the problem is fixed.
A statement published on the train operators website said "response staff are on site but making repairs but more work than expected is required to return the level crossing to normal".
Greenwich services through Charlton may be delayed by 15 minutes and Charing Cross to Gillingham services will be diverted between Blackheath and Dartford to run via the Bexleyheath Line.
Train tickets can be used on the Docklands Light Railway between Lewisham and Greenwich and disruption is expected until 5.15pm.
