A heritage project aiming to improve the condition of historic properties needs three volunteers to help facilitate a legacy-art workshop.

The North Tottenham Townscape Heritage Initiative is holding the workshop for Year 5 children from Risley Avenue Primary School on Tuesday May 16 from 1pm to 3pm at Coombes Croft Library.

Artists Lara Harwood and Zoe Josephine will lead the workshop ‘Yo! Clipclop! Bobbin! Buy!’ a Celebration of Life on the High Road.

Children will explore the visual and aural heritage of the street and its evolving trades using the Bruce Castle Museum archive.

They will re-imagine the past using drawings, rubbings, stencil printing and collage.

Six colourful banner artworks that come out of the workshop will be exhibited on Tottenham High Road from June to December 2017.

A previous workshop had two Year 5 groups from Harris Academy learning how to collage and screen print.

North Tottenham Townscape Heritage Initiative is a Heritage Lottery funded project to improve 28 historic at risk properties along the northern end of the High Road.

Volunteers wishing to facilitate must arrive at Coombes Croft Library at 12pm to help the artists set up for the afternoon.
