A Stanley Park High School pupil was made to feel uneasy after a man probed her with a series of personal questions outside Wallington train station.

The girl had been waiting by a bus stop in Railway Approach when the man approached her at about 7.10am on Thursday, April 27.

She later informed staff at the secondary school who informed the police at 9am.

A school safe alert notifying parents about the encounter was sent out earlier today (Friday, April 28).

It read: “The police have been informed and have spoken to the girl.

“Please discuss with your children the importance of not becoming involved in discussions with strangers. We would also advise that, wherever possible, students do not travel on their own to and from school, but do so with other students.”

The man is described as white, aged about 50 years old, with green eyes and a beard.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
