The drug dealer who supplied date-rape drugs to serial killer Stephen Port has admitted offences in court.

Gerald Matovu, 23, pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court today (March 28) to supplying the class B drug ‘meow meow’ and class C drug GHB to Port between July 1 and August 31 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to offering to supply GHB to Port between those dates.

Port used the date rape drug GHB to lethally poison four young gay men he had stalked online.

Port, a 42-year-old chef, was sentenced to a life term in November last year for the murder of the four men as well as drugging and sexually assaulting another seven victims.

The serial killer was convicted of murdering Gabriel Kovari, from Lewisham, and former Dartford Grammar schoolboy Daniel Whitworth, from Gravesend.

He also killed Jack Taylor, from Dagenham, and Anthony Walgate, from Hull, who was studying at Middlesex University.

Port, from Barking in east London, also brought drugs from Matovu to have consensual sex with his partner.

A police spokesperson said: “Phone records and downloads from electronic devices belonging to Port clearly showed contact with Matovu and Port had described Matovu as his drug dealer to his partner.

“In messages Matovu told Port he had ‘loads of G’ and asked how much he wanted.”

Matovu was arrested on June 15 last year and charged on October 27.

He will be sentenced on Wednesday, April 26.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Bhulesh Pala, from the Met's sexual offences, exploitation and child abuse command, said: "Matovu's activities became apparent during the investigation into Stephen Port and I am pleased we have been able to convict him today."
