On the 18th March, the Langley Trampolining Competition team travelled to Newcastle to compete in the National Finals. They were up against competitors all over the UK and there were teams as well as individuals in their category- under 19’s intermediate.

They were due to perform at around 4pm and they went to Gateshead Leisure Centre for the event. They were all very ‘nervous but excited’ and they were so grateful to have gotten this far. At the competition, all four girls were watching the previous performances and were therefore getting quite anxious to be judged.

When it was their time, they all had their warmups and soon after competing, their coach said everyone in the team ‘did amazingly well’. They managed to get 5th place in the team event and one of the girls placed 4th individually. This was an incredible result and they also set a Langley record for most advanced trampolining team. Amy Mewis, a Langley performer, exclaimed she was ‘ecstatic to make it this far and to come 5th in the UK’.

Undoubtedly, the girls had a successful competition and until next year’s School Competitions, all they can do is practice, practice, practice. Will they be able to do as well next year?
