A businessman who ran multiple property companies but failed to declare his income or the fact he was a company director has been given a two year suspended jail sentence.

Property developer and landlord Michael Waddingham, 44, from Teddington was also fined £200,000, in addition to the £281,000 tax owed he had already repaid.

Waddingham, who currently the director of two companies and owns 17 properties throughout England, admitted on January that he failed to submit any self assessment tax returns to HMRC between 2008 and 2012.

He was sentenced on Friday, March 10 at Kingston Crown Court.
